Data Deletion Policy

You have the right to delete your TheDevs account and the personal data associated with it. This policy explains how to do that, what is removed, what we are required to keep, and the timeframe for processing requests. It works with our Privacy Policy.

How to delete your account

You can delete your account in two ways:

• In-app: sign in at thedevs.org and use the Delete Account option in your account settings. This starts the deletion immediately.
• By request: email contact@thedevs.org from the email on your account asking us to delete it. We may verify your identity before proceeding.

What data is removed

When your account is deleted, we remove:

• Your name, email, and phone number from active systems.
• Your account credentials and active sessions.
• Project chats and messages associated with your account.
• Uploaded files and assets you shared, where stored by us.
• Any preference and profile data.

What we retain

Some records are kept after deletion where we have a legal or accounting obligation. This is kept to the minimum necessary and is not used to identify you for marketing. Retained records may include:

• Project records and invoices needed for tax and accounting compliance.
• Payment references and screenshots required for financial record-keeping.
• Records needed to prevent fraud and abuse, or where required by law.

These retained records are stored securely and deleted once the legal retention period ends.

The 30-day window

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. In most cases, in-app deletion takes effect immediately, with backups and cached copies purged within the 30-day window. If you request deletion by email, we confirm and complete it within the same 30-day period. You can cancel a deletion request any time before it completes by emailing us.

After deletion

Once deletion is complete, your account can no longer be accessed and your personal data is no longer processed. If you want to use TheDevs again, you can create a new account at any time at thedevs.org/signup.
